ICC ODI World Cup 2027 Schedule
The 2027 ODI World Cup begins with a three-team Super Series in Windhoek, Namibia, from October 2 to October 6. The winner of the Super Series will take the final Group Stage position.
The Group Stage then begins on October 7, followed by the Super 7 phase from October 25 to November 14. The semi-finals will be played on November 17 and 18, with the final on November 21.
How the Pre-Seeded Schedule Works
The ICC has pre-seeded seven teams into Super 7 positions so fans can understand the likely fixture and venue pathways before the Group Stage is completed. The current positions are A1: India, A2: Australia, A3: Pakistan, B1: New Zealand, B2: South Africa, B3: Sri Lanka and AB4: England. If a non-seeded team qualifies for the Super 7 while one of these pre-seeded teams does not, the qualifying team takes over the displaced team’s designated position and its planned fixture and venue pathway.
ODI World Cup 2027 Format at a Glance
- Group Stage (October 7 to 24): 12 teams are split into two groups of six, with each team playing five matches. The Group Stage consists of 30 matches.
- Super 7 (October 25 to November 14): The top three teams from each group advance, along with the better fourth-placed team across the two groups. The seven teams then play a single round-robin of 21 matches, with each team playing six matches.
- No points carried forward: All seven Super 7 teams start this phase from zero points, so Group Stage points do not carry into the Super 7 table.
- Knockouts: The top four teams in the Super 7 standings qualify for the semi-finals. The team finishing first plays fourth, while second plays third.
This format means the Group Stage determines who reaches the Super 7, while the Super 7 standings decide the four semi-finalists.
